YESTERDAY
Following a 13 year working association,
Linda Chew (now District Judge) and Beth Parsons
established the Children's Justice Center of El Paso in 1997.
The CJC is a unique organization, and the only
one of its kind in Texas. It is a pro bono legal and
social services program established to serve the
legal needs of children in El Paso who have been
victimized by abuse and neglect.
TODAY
The CJC has represented more than 200
abused, abandoned, neglected and medically
needy children in El Paso. We visit our child
clients in their homes, hospital rooms, and
treatment centers, and represent them in court.
Currently over 60 dedicated volunteer attorneys
work closely with the CJC's small staff.
TOMORROW
Our goal is to continue to advocate for abused
and neglected children in El Paso to help assure
a permanent, nurturing environment for every
child. Moreover, we continue to expand our
role as a resource center for child advocacy
for the children of El Paso and serve as a
model for the State of Texas.
